Russia questions the need to issue a national digital currency. Writes about this TASS with reference to the statement of the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina.
According to her, the technological aspect is not the only thing that stands in the way of creating cryptorama.
«For the Russian Central Bank is not obvious the necessity to issue a national currency. Not only for technological reasons, but also because to really appreciate, and what advantage will provide a national digital currency, for example, compared with the existing electronic non-cash payments», — said Nabiullina.
Thus, the regulator reiterated his skepticism of digital assets.
«Many risks, and the benefits may not be as obvious,» — said the head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
Regulation of the cryptocurrency market in Russia is not accepted until now. The main document — the draft law «On digital of financial assets» — was only the stage of first reading and was sent back for revision, including because of the requirements of FATF.
We will remind, in January, the Chairman of the Duma Committee on financial market Anatoly Aksakov said that the appearance of cryptorama in Russia may take up to three years, as this should be preceded by the massive use of blockchain technology.
