The largest American cryptocurrency company Coinbase start to issue Visa debit cards to residents of six European countries: Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Ireland and the Netherlands, according to CNBC.
This card is linked to Coinbase mobile apps on iOS/Android and allows users to spend money cryptocurrency (bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, and others) in online and physical stores that accept Visa cards.
Initially, the project Coinbase Card launched in the UK. For the British user was immediately set some limits: the maximum amount of expenditure per day — £10 000, the maximum daily amount you can withdraw from an ATM is £500. Transaction fees in this case was 2.49%.
Note that it is unknown whether the new jurisdiction of the same limitations and conditions.
Coinbase in partnership with PaySafe processing is provided to convert cryptocurrency users when making purchases, so in the calculations using the Coinbase Card merchants will immediately receive Fiat money — the pound or the Euro.
At the moment, the company did not disclose the exact number of users of Coinbase Card, however, the British division said that the first free 1000 cards sold as quickly as possible.
