On «Black Friday» scammers tried to get money out of users crypto currency exchange Uphold

Hackers compromised the email cryptocurrency exchanges Uphold through third-party mailing service and sent users to a phishing email with an offer to participate in a special promotion on “Black Friday”: buy bitcoins at a discount of 15%. Four hours later the staff of the crypto currency exchange in the next letter stated that the newsletter was made by the scammers.

Users were asked to refrain from participating in the Scam and not to follow the link from the message scams. At the same time for security purposes, a crypto currency exchange was temporarily closed to the possibility of withdrawal from the site of bitcoins.

“We’re investigating the incident. A platform to Uphold and tools her clients are safe and have not suffered”, – assure of the company.

At the moment it is not known how many customers could become potential victims of cyber criminals. Nevertheless, provided they had received two payments totaling $2200 in bitcoins.

To prevent phishing attacks the team promised to Uphold in the coming weeks to add to the platform new levels of protection.
